Friday Late: On/Off - Queer Botany Guided Walk

V&A South Kensington

Our online worlds often demand representations of us that emphasise perfection, optimisation and acceleration. As we grow weary of the algorithms that control our opinions and feed us unrealistic standards, it may be time to reconsider our relationship with the digital. June’s Friday Late made space to switch off, create real-life connections through material and sensory experiences, and nurture a more considered approach to the digital in our lives.

Queer Botany explores the connections between queerness and nature through the theoretical lens of queer ecology. We hosted guided walks through the V&A’s John Madejski Garden. Sharing stories about plants from marginalised perspectives, we learned about the garden’s history and links to plant-related objects in the Museum’s collection.
